He's Home!

And suddenly its all over, and people are telling me how quickly nine months has passed. I tend to agree with them but i've said that we've felt each day. The tour ended with the summer ball, a final hurrah that its all over.

Thank you to Tilly, Mel and Shannon who have been my army wags and have helped me whenever i needed them. And  to all my wonderful friends too. Thank you to my army man, who contacted me whenever he could, sent me roses when i was upset and made the whole thing bearable just by being him.

I've loved making these parcels for you. We did it.

Final project..

Of course i had to surprise him at the airport with a sign.. then came the decisions on the design. I decided i hated my first attempt, so went with a simple british flag and stuck on his regimental crest.

A to Z

A to Z of memories..

I love you to the moon but further

I knew Chris was coming home soon and i had a few blueys lying around that i wanted to send. We managed to talk quite a lot so he already knew what i'd been up to, so i decided just to send a small message instead..

Message in a bottle

This was one of my favourite parcels to send, and it was so simple. I bought a small bottle from ebay and cut the paper to fit, found some string and simply tied a box around my note and popped it in. There was navy tissue paper surrounding the bottle, but i didn't include anything else as i didn't want it to detract. I loved drawing the ship on the front and making the drawing look nautical. Safe to say, it was one of his favourites too.

Easter

Just a few chocolates put together and anything spring coloured, as he knew this parcel would be coming! One great item was the bunny pompom kit, i did ask for a photo but i'm not sure these have ever been made! Mandatory bunny ears too, of course.

Once again Pinterest was very helpful! I saw these little origami fortune cookies and set about writing small messages to put inside. Matched with different patterned papers, its a (very cheap!) sweet idea to fill up a small shoe box.

Mini Love Letters

R&R

I've been lucky enough not to have to post for a while as Chris came home at the beginning of February for his two weeks R&R, it's crazy how long we waited for those two weeks and how far away they seem now! We travelled around England and saw lots of sights, so it was a given that i would make a parcel about our two weeks. I decided to make a concertina book with a little drawing of each day to be the main point of the parcel, and then small presents clearly marked which were relevant to a certain day.
